What should be part of an onboarding packet for new employees? Is it just the legally required forms and notices, or should there be more? If yes, what should (or should not) be included?
Onboarding is more than just distributing and collecting legally required forms like I-9s and W-4s. It is employees’ first glimpse at your business model – their first introduction to your policies, procedures, trainings and culture. Depending on your business model, it should contain everything from your mission statement and values to your employee handbook and arbitration agreements. So, it should not only check all the legal boxes, but also help employees understand their role, rights and expectations within the company culture. It should also be designed to protect you – the employer – from liability and claims as much as possible.
The speakers will discuss tips on how to craft an effective onboarding package for your business needs.
