TORONTO (June 17, 2024) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labour law practice representing management, continues its hiring streak in Toronto today with the addition of Matthew Badrov as a partner. Badrov, who joins from Sherrard Kuzz, marks Littler’s third partner addition in Toronto in recent months, following the arrivals of Shana French and Stephen Shore.
“Canada is an important and growing market for Littler and with the latest additions of Matt, Shana and Stephen to our talented team, we are well positioned to further expand our offerings to clients in the market,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Since the opening of our Toronto office nearly a decade ago, Canada has been integral to our ability to provide employers with comprehensive legal services across their global operations. Our clients will continue to benefit immensely from the wide-ranging experience and insights of our Toronto team.”
Badrov advises clients on a wide range of workplace issues, including hiring, policy development, labour relations, grievance arbitration, collective bargaining, and misclassification risk. Recognized as a Five-Star Safety Lawyer by Canadian Occupational Safety®, he has extensive experience in workplace health and safety matters. Badrov has also handled several significant cases in Ontario addressing the gig-economy and modern labour relations.
“Matt brings extensive experience across various areas of labour and employment law, along with a passion for serving clients and collaborating with his colleagues,” said Toronto Office Managing Partner Stephen Shore. “As Canadian employers navigate new and unique challenges, particularly amid this transformative moment for labour relations, they need sharp, knowledgeable counsel who understand the shifting landscape. Matt undoubtedly fits the bill and I’m excited for him to join our growing Toronto team.”
An active member of the Canadian legal and business communities, Badrov frequently writes and speaks on emerging topics in employment and labour law – from multi-jurisdiction class proceedings to non-competition agreements to managing workplace safety and more. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Franchise Association, and Retail Council of Canada, among other associations.
“Littler is a world class firm and has truly made a name for itself in Canada. This move represents an amazing advancement in my career,” said Badrov. “I look forward to working alongside the talented Toronto team, including my former colleague Shana French, and drawing on Littler’s vast capabilities and diverse range of subject matter knowledge to serve my clients.”
Badrov received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor and his B.A. from the University of Guelph.
