WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 14, 2011) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has added Joshua B. Waxman as a shareholder to its Washington, D.C. office. Formerly a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, Waxman focuses his practice on complex class action and employment litigation, as well as traditional labor law matters. "We are excited to have Josh's expertise for our class action practice, which continues to grow. He also adds depth to our labor relations practice, because his familiarity with the political as well as the practical in that arena make him a valuable advisor to employers seeking strategic labor relations advice,” says Nancy Delogu, Office Managing Shareholder in Littler’s Washington, D.C. office.
Waxman has represented clients in connection with state and federal class action wage and hour lawsuits in jurisdictions nationwide. He has also advised clients with labor-management relations matters concerning collective bargaining and union organizing under the National Labor Relations Act. Waxman is a chapter editor to the Collective Actions Chapter (Chapter 19) of the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) and American Bar Association (ABA) Fair Labor Standards Act treatise, as well as a contributing editor for the ABA’s Developing Labor Law treatise.
“I am thrilled to be joining the nation's top labor and employment law firm,” added Waxman. “I look forward to utilizing the geographic platform that Littler provides to both expand my practice and provide my clients with the best labor and employment representation.”
