PITTSBURGH, PA (May 20, 2014) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added accomplished employment litigator S. Elaine Diedrich as a shareholder in the firm’s Pittsburgh, Pa. office. Diedrich was formerly a partner with Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP and litigation partner-in-charge of that firm’s Pittsburgh office.

Diedrich has tried cases in jurisdictions across the country and has extensive experience in non-compete and trade secret litigation. Her litigation practice also includes representing employers in lawsuits brought under state and federal discrimination laws, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and under whistleblower and wrongful discharge laws.
Diedrich, who now devotes a significant portion of her practice to counseling employers on daily employment-related issues to help clients avoid litigation, states, “I consider my relationship with clients a business relationship. I respect that they still need to run a successful business. I work with clients to find solutions to employment issues that are both good business decisions and help reduce the risk of employment litigation.”
Diedrich assists companies in all aspects of employee-related issues including hiring, firing, performance management, addressing leave and accommodation requests, layoffs, wage and hour, union avoidance and campaigns, non-compete, employment and severance agreements and training supervisors on best practices related to handling workplace issues. She also assists start-up and emerging companies implement proper procedures and agreements to prevent employment disputes.
