PITTSBURGH (April 15, 2024) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Shannon Huygens as special counsel in its Pittsburgh office. Huygens, who was an associate at Littler from 2004 to 2013, rejoins the firm after serving as associate general counsel at the University of Pittsburgh for more than a decade.
“Shannon’s more than two decades of employment law experience, particularly in the higher education sector, will complement our team in Pittsburgh as we continue to grow our practice both locally and nationwide,” said Ted Schroeder, Pittsburgh office managing shareholder. “Her ability to counsel clients on complex employment matters, significant litigation experience, and commitment to providing exceptional representation will serve us and our clients well. I am excited to welcome her back to the Littler family.”
Huygens represents employers in employment litigation matters arising under federal and state laws, including family and medical leave, wage and hour violations, and misappropriation of trade secrets, among others. She advises clients of all sizes – from small employers and non-profit organizations to Fortune 500 companies with nationwide operations. Huygens’ practice also focuses on litigation avoidance and she routinely counsels employers on regulatory compliance, discipline and termination as well as other workplace best practices.
Huygens received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh.
