Kansas City, Mo. (August 12, 2015) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, announced today the opening of its new Global Services Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The 53,000-square-foot, two-story space is located at 2301 McGee Street at Crown Center. The office, built with a “future-proof” design to allow for continued growth, will house approximately 275 employees. The facility includes dedicated incubation spaces, rooms for focus work, training rooms and areas for formal and impromptu collaboration.
“After operating in temporary office space for the past few months, we are excited to open the doors to the permanent Global Services Center facility,” said Littler’s Co-Managing Directors Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, in a joint statement. “The space is designed to attract and retain the best talent while creating a world class environment in support of quality service to our workforce and clients.”
The Global Services Center utilizes an array of new technology to foster an atmosphere of collaboration, innovation, and connectedness. With an untethered, portable environment, employees are able to work, communicate, and access data from anywhere within the 53,000 square foot office. Additionally, employees will be able choose from various workspace settings, including: “public zones” that can host large community gatherings, a large café experience in the heart of the space that will facilitate informal cross-departmental collaboration, and a variety of spaces for focused work.
The new location houses the firm’s Administrative Management and Operations, Human Resources, Attorney Recruiting and Development, Technology Infrastructure, Information Security & Information Management, Applications/Development, Finance, Client Relations, Littler Learning Group, Litigation Support, Knowledge Management, Risk Management, Littler CaseSmart Intake and Library Research departments.
Littler looked at several cities across the country for its new center and worked with numerous state and local groups before selecting Kansas City.
“We chose Kansas City because of the quality and diversity of its labor force, location in the Central time zone and cost benefits,” Littler’s Chief Operating Officer Robert Domingues said. “The majority of the center’s employees will be new hires and will be joined with transfers from other Littler locations. That, coupled with the facility’s modern design, will help us build upon and improve our culture and make business processes more efficient.”
The facility was designed by Gensler, a global design firm with more than 2,300 active clients in 114 countries. The firm represents clients large and small, private and public, for-profit and nonprofit.
