(November 11, 2021) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, is pleased to announce the official launch of its affinity group for veterans – the Littler Veterans Initiative. This group, co-chaired by Shareholder Matthew Hank (Philadelphia) and Associate Emily Haigh (New York), is open to attorneys and staff who are veterans and military family members, those who currently serve in a reserve capacity, and attorneys who specialize in employment law topics unique to veterans.
“At Littler, we truly value and appreciate the many contributions of our veterans and are extremely proud to have such an esteemed group of veterans working at the firm,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “We are thrilled to expand our offerings in this area by providing a forum for our veterans to collaborate, further develop their skillsets, and partner with clients on veteran-related employment law needs.”
In addition to providing an inclusive community of support for all members, attorneys in the group will also provide counsel on military-specific employment law issues, develop opportunities focused on veteran business owners and support veteran employment law-related needs. This new group was proposed as part of Littler’s Innovate 100 tournament, which was held earlier this year and is a hackathon-style event where attorneys come together to develop new ideas and innovations.
In addition to the newly formed Veterans Initiative, Littler offers the following affinity groups: Bollo (Black/African American), ‘Ohana (Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, North African and Pacific Islander), Pride (LGBTQ+) and Reunión (Hispanic/Latinx). Further, the firm’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) provides growth and development opportunities for those Littler attorneys who identify as female and/or nonbinary, and empowers them to reach their desired professional goals.
