(June 11, 2018) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has named Austin Shareholder Darren Gibson and Nashville Shareholder Michael Moschel as co-chairs of the firm’s Higher Education Industry Group. Gibson and Moschel succeed Philadelphia Shareholder Kristine Grady Derewicz and Providence Shareholder Walter Hunter. Derewicz maintains her active practice while also serving on the firm’s Management Committee, Littler’s highest governing body. Hunter will also continue representing clients in the higher education arena.

Darren Gibson is a seasoned litigator with notable experience in federal and state courts across the country. Gibson has substantial experience defending universities, school districts and individuals in employment and Title IX litigation, as well as conducting investigations into employee misconduct and Title IX compliance. In addition, he serves as an independent Title IX hearing officer in university appeal hearings.
Board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Gibson is licensed to practice in Texas and New York. He earned his J.D., cum laude, at Harvard Law School and his B.S., summa cum laude, at the University of Kentucky.
Recognized for his results-driven counsel, Michael Moschel advances the business interests of national and regional employers. He negotiates significant labor contracts and represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Labor. Moschel also advises and litigates in a wide range of employment law, including restrictive covenants agreements, wage and hour compliance, discipline and discharge, reductions in force, discrimination and civil rights, sexual harassment, misclassification of employees as independent contractors and I-9 compliance.
Moschel has been named one of The Best Lawyers in America© each year since 2011 and has been continually ranked by Chambers USA as a top lawyer within the labor and employment practice area. He earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Rochester.
