MILWAUKEE (April 8, 2024) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added John D. (J.D.) Tripoli as a shareholder in its Milwaukee office. Tripoli joins from Eimer Stahl LLP and focuses his practice on employment-related litigation.
“J.D. is a skilled litigator whose dynamic practice crosses several key industry sectors for the firm. I have no doubt he will be a valuable resource for our clients navigating today’s complex employment law issues,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “We’re thrilled to add a lawyer of J.D.’s caliber to our bench of litigation attorneys as we continue to strategically grow our team.”
Tripoli represents employers facing any number of employment claims, including discrimination, wage and hour, restrictive covenants, and misclassification. He has experience in all phases of trial and appellate litigation and has secured victories in the U.S. Supreme Court, Wisconsin Supreme Court, state and federal appellate courts, and federal district courts.
Tripoli also guides employers through investigations brought forward by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Department of Labor, and state civil rights agencies. Earlier in his career, Tripoli served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael B. Brennan on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Acting Chief Legal Counsel to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
“J.D. brings a diverse skill set and a deep knowledge of the Wisconsin state agencies that our clients frequently interact with, further strengthening the counseling services we’re able to provide local employers,” said Jennifer L. Ciralsky, Littler’s Milwaukee office managing shareholder. “In addition, his unique familiarity with litigation proceedings both in the state and across the U.S. bolsters the defense our team provides in the courtroom both here in Wisconsin and nationally.”
“I have long admired Littler and its reputation as the preeminent employment and labor law firm. I’m thrilled to join a team of sophisticated and talented practitioners,” said Tripoli. “The firm’s global network of attorneys and resources, coupled with the team’s in-depth capabilities across all facets of employment and labor law, will be incredibly beneficial for my clients and practice.”
Tripoli earned his J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
