MIAMI, FL (July 29, 2014) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added seasoned Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and employment litigator Sherril M. Colombo to its Miami office. With 20 years of experience before both federal and Florida state trial and appellate courts, Colombo joins Littler as a shareholder and was previously a partner at Wilson Elser’s Miami office.

Additionally, her experience will strengthen our ERISA and employment litigation practice here in Florida and nationally.”
Board-certified as a specialist in labor and employment law, Colombo provides skilled, responsive representation to employers of all sizes across a wide range of industries. She defends employers in a variety of employment-related claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, the Fair Labor Standards Act, 42 U.S. Code § 1981, ERISA and the Florida Civil Rights Act, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, wrongful discharge and whistleblower matters.

Active in a number of professional organizations, Colombo has assumed leadership roles with the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. She is the immediate past President of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and is the recent chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the Florida Bar Association. She is a member of the Federal Court Practice Committee of the Florida Bar and the DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar. Colombo is an avid speaker in her field and has been recognized by Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America for her career achievements.
Colombo served as a law clerk to the Hon. Barry L. Garber, Federal Magistrate Judge for the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She received her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center and her B.A. from the University of Washington.
