SAN FRANCISCO (August 7, 2023) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Robert I. Lockwood as a shareholder in its San Francisco office. Lockwood, who was previously with O’Hagan Meyer LLP, is the tenth shareholder to join Littler since May 1.
“We’re excited to welcome Rob as the latest addition to our roster of talented attorneys,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Rob’s breadth and depth of labor and employment law knowledge, as well as his experience working with a wide range of employers – from innovative technology startups to some of the nation’s largest companies – will greatly benefit the firm and our clients.”
Lockwood counsels clients on various aspects of employment law and related litigation. He has defended both California and national employers against complex class action and collective action cases, as well as in single plaintiff litigation matters, involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, unfair competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Lockwood’s clients span numerous industries, including financial services, technology and software, sports, pharmaceutical, transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, hospitality, wine, and construction.
“Rob’s knowledge of the complexities of California’s legal landscape, combined with his work across several key industry sectors that drive the state’s economy, will further bolster our capabilities in San Francisco and beyond,” said Constance Norton, office managing shareholder of Littler’s San Francisco office. “With an ability to provide proactive counsel on workplace issues and develop effective trial strategies when disputes arise – along with impressive experience in the traditional labor relations arena – Rob has established himself as a trusted resource for clients.”
In addition to his litigation practice, Lockwood provides workplace training, conducts investigations, and counsels employers on workplace policies, practices and agreements. He also focuses on labor management relations, including defending against union campaigns and representation petitions, handling grievance arbitration and administrative hearings, responding to unfair labor practice charges, and advising on collective bargaining issues.
“Having spent my career focused on labor and employment law at both large, full-service and boutique firms, I’ve long been familiar with Littler’s reputation and the strength of its global platform,” said Lockwood. “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to join the world’s foremost labor and employment law firm and to draw on my talented new colleagues, as well as Littler’s depth of resources, to serve my clients.”
Lockwood received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice in California and New York.
