
Sean Dawson counsels and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters.
His litigation practice focuses primarily on complex wage and hour litigation, with an emphasis on class, collective, and hybrid actions. Sean has significant experience representing employers in a variety of wage and hour lawsuits involving off-the-clock, overtime rate calculation, minimum wage, and misclassification (both independent contractor and exemption status) claims in state and federal courts throughout the United States.
Sean has significant experience litigating single plaintiff matters involving employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as unfair competition and trade secret cases (with experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants). He also routinely represents employers in investigations by various administrative agencies, including the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and the Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations.
Sean also regularly provides advice and counseling to clients on an array of employment law issues, including reviewing and drafting personnel policies, providing advice on discipline and termination, and conducting workplace investigations. Sean’s counseling practice focuses primarily on wage and hour advice, and he has significant experience advising employer on recovery of inadvertent overpayments under applicable state laws throughout the United States.
