Miguel A. Morel is a highly experienced labor and employment attorney who represents employers in complex litigation and regulatory matters across a wide range of industries, with a particular focus on aviation and transportation.

Miguel has successfully defended employers in both individual and class-based actions before federal and state courts, as well as administrative agencies including the EEOC, U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Administrative Law Judges, Florida Commission on Human Relations, Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, among other administrative agencies.

Miguel's practice includes employment litigation under ADA, FMLA, Title VII, ADEA, FLSA, and Florida employment laws. He handles whistleblower and retaliation claims under AIR 21 and Florida statutes, as well as union representation disputes, collective bargaining, and grievance arbitration under the Railway Labor Act (RLA). Miguel has experience in Fair Housing Act matters, including emotional support animal claims. He also advises and represents clients on issues related to the Florida Civil Rights Act, Private Whistleblower Act, Minimum Wage Act, Fair Housing Act, and common law employment claims.

Miguel regularly advises airlines, cruise lines, and logistics companies on employment matters unique to the transportation sector.

  • Grace Flannery v. Spirit Airlines – FMLA class action dismissed under RLA preemption
  • Compere v. Nusret Miami – FLSA collective decertified; MSJ granted and affirmed on appeal
  • Sillien v. Waste Management – Discrimination claims dismissed and affirmed on appeal
  • Shannon v. Amtrak I & II – MSJ and dismissal with prejudice, both affirmed on appeal
  • McCartha v. HUB – Favorable settlement with consent judgment and fees awarded
  • Urgelles v. Family Heritage – TRO granted and affirmed on appeal in Florida state court
