Overview

Maria-Jose Malaver-Reyes represents and counsels clients on domestic and international labor and employment matters. Maria assists businesses in navigating workplace issues such as discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour disputes, and collective bargaining and labor disputes. She also advises multinational companies on implementing multi-country employee handbooks,  executing multi-country reductions in force, and undertaking cross-border internal investigations.

Prior to joining Littler, Maria was a trial attorney and legal honors attorney for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She focused on litigating  discrimination, retaliation, and merit systems principles complaints before the EEOC and the MSPB. Maria provided advice to internal management clients about employees on probationary status, implementing performance plans, and employee terminations. Because HUD is the enforcement agency for the Fair Housing Act, she also investigated and litigated fair housing complaints and presented trainings to client teams on compliance with federal and state fair housing statutes and regulations.
