With two decades of experience, Jamie J. Spataro’s practice encompasses a wide range of workplace safety and health issues.
For nearly 15 years, Jamie served as a lead counsel for a major American ground package delivery company on workplace safety, infectious diseases and COVID-19 mitigation, hazardous materials transportation, environmental compliance, sustainability, sustainable freight, indirect air carrier and border security.
Jamie also counseled the company on customs and international trade compliance, transportation safety, regulated commodities including alcohol, tobacco, firearms, pharmaceuticals and agriculture, fuel licensing, weights and measures.
He supported the company’s international service offerings for the import and export of regulated commodities, ensuring compliance with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Office of Foreign Assets Control Regulations.
Prior to his in-house career, Jamie spent five years in private practice serving as national coordinating counsel and local counsel for a large corporate client involved in the defense of asbestos lawsuits. He also focused his practice on commercial and environmental litigation. Jamie regularly participated on trial teams in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
Jamie has served his community representing low-income clients in pro bono matters before the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He has also provided Spanish language translation support for his corporate and pro bono clients.
He also has earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in International Law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
