Overview

Edward Tsui (pronounced "Choi") is an experienced trial attorney who represents companies on a broad range of employment matters. He has extensive experience in appearing before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, including for Labor Code 132(a) discrimination claims, and serious and willful misconduct claims. Focusing on workplace safety and health, he represents employers in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) appeals. He also represents businesses in employment matters including workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination, and has matters in arbitration forums including JAMS.

His practice focuses on representing gig economy companies, and technology companies within the virtual marketplace space, on classification issues (i.e. independent contractor vs. employee) that crossover between the employment law and workers' compensation law arenas. Ed collaborates with Littler attorneys and local counsel throughout the U.S. to protect clients' interests in workers' compensation matters in all 50 states.

Ed has served diverse clients including self-insured Fortune 500 corporations, medium sized businesses, uninsured employers, professional employer organizations (PEOs), national staffing agencies, public entities, and major insurance companies in a variety of industries including:

  • Manufacturing
  • Hospitality (hotels and restaurant groups)
  • Healthcare
  • Retail
  • E-Commerce
  • Cannabis
  • Agriculture
  • Fashion
  • Automotive
  • Aerospace
  • Real estate
  • Transportation and warehousing

Prior to joining Littler, Ed was a managing attorney at his previous firm’s Orange County office. He has led over two dozen bench trials, taking hundreds of depositions of claimants and medical examiners, and submitted removals and reconsiderations to the Appeals Board.
