Azure'D Metoyer focuses her practice on a broad range of labor and employment law matters. She routinely defends employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, against allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. She has experience with federal and state occupational safety and health plans and defends against OSHA citations and penalties and whistleblower violations.
Azure’D has represented clients in denial of benefits claims under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). She also has experience conducting workplace investigations.
Prior to joining Littler, Azure'D was a staff attorney to the Hon. Stephen McIntosh in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court where she managed a civil docket of more than 350 cases. Azure'D examined and analyzed a variety of multifaceted legal issues involving a broad range of claims including breach of contract, violations of noncompetition covenants, and discrimination. She is a former assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, focusing on single plaintiff employment discrimination litigation. While there, she managed an independent case load from inception through litigation including witness interviews, document collection, depositions and deposition preparation, motion practice, hearing preparation, and settlement.
