Littler Shareholders Jessica Marinelli and James Witz have partnered with Rocky Mountain People & Strategy (RMPS) to host an event about AI in Organizations: Working Session on Best Practices for HR Leaders. AI is permeating every aspect of the modern workplace, and business leaders don't have the luxury of making AI adoption decisions in a vacuum. Instead, research shows that successful leaders apply a holistic framework that balances competing and rapidly evolving priorities to ensure their organizations thrive and outcompete.

This session, led by Alice H. Wang and Bradford J. Kelley from Littler, will begin with an overview of how C-suites should approach AI-related decision-making, the key AI issues they must address and the hard truths that must be reconciled.

Topics include:

  • The definition of AI and types of AI
  • How organizations are using AI
  • The benefits of AI
  • The risks of AI, including labor and employment legal risks as well as ethical concerns
  • What federal and state agencies are doing to address the risks associated with AI under the new administration
  • State and local AI legislation to address AI, including 'algorithmic discrimination' under the Colorado AI Intelligence Act, which takes effect February 1, 2026
  • International efforts to regulate AI
  • Whether organizations need an AI policy
  • Additional best practices (including factors to consider when developing an AI policy)

Later in the program, participants will work in small groups to explore use cases for AI in organizations. Facilitated by RMPS affiliates, Lori Frasier and Eva Miller, you will work in small groups to brainstorm how to integrate AI into your organization and address the challenges for your workforce and culture.
