The second regular session of the 131st Maine legislature adjourned in May after lawmakers passed almost 200 new laws, many of which impact public and private employers of all sizes. The speakers will address major changes to wage and hour violation enforcement in the Pine Tree state, expansion of the Maine Equal Pay Act to include race, and significant increases to employer liability for violations of the Maine Human Rights Act.

In addition, the presentation will take a deep dive into the recently released rules for implementing Maine’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Program – one of the nation’s broadest and most generous paid leave programs.
